The primary exempt purpose of co-counsel nyc is to support low-income immigrant communities in new york city focusing on immigration and family law matters before the executive office for immigration review eoir which adjudicates removal proceedings and the united states citizenship and immigration services uscis which adjudicates applications for immigration benefits we offer training supervision co-counseling and community education to law firms companies and community-based organizations to help immigrant new yorkers access legal services to attain lawful immigration status and achieve safety and economic stability co-counsels activities include designing and implementing pro se and pro bono clinics so that pro bono lawyers advocates and volunteers can learn about immigration law and participate in helping immigrant communities achieve safety and stability
